What Is Asbestos Awareness?
Asbestos Awareness is becoming a type of training that should be given to workers particularly workers in the maintenance, refurbishment and trades where ACM’s may be exposed.
If you have no intention of removing asbestos but work on buildings built or refurbished before the year 2000, asbestos could be present.
You will need awareness training so you know how to avoid the risks.
Who Should Be Asbestos Trained?
In the past year, we have seen more clients asking for candidates with the following trades to be Asbestos trained:
- Painter and Decorators
- Demolition Workers
- Fire Safety Installers
Please note: Awareness training is only intended to help employees avoid carrying out work that will disturb asbestos or ACMs.
Where Can You Find Asbestos?
Asbestos can be found in any industrial or residential building built or refurbished before the year 2000. It is in many of the common materials used in the building trade that you may come across during your work.
