Straight after NSC2 at Dunblane Hydro on 22nd June 2016, Sharon and I were completely blown away at how much information we were able to take away from the event.
I think its fair to say that the NSC2 had a huge impact on everyone that attended, especially for us as we did not realise how huge a sector nuclear really was and going to be, and trust me on this one its HUGE.
The opportunities that are out there are phenomenal and we hope to partner up with some of the major nuclear contractors and hopefully supply the right candidates to their business.
It was great to see so many people networking, especially because of the way the oil and gas sector is at the moment but seeing people still make the effort to push into other sectors was great and most importantly for us, how the nuclear sector can have an impact on our business.
Attending this event provided many opportunities to identify lessons learned based on past experience of others as well as providing insight into the direction of the industry in the area.
The event was very informative with an excellent standard of delegates which each willingly shared information and were keen to network.
The topics were of high focus and global interest.
The event was well organised, excellent facilitated and hosted with a high competence level by promising professionals
Did you know that the nuclear decommissioning market in Scotland is valued at approximately £3.5 billion over the next 15 years – £65bn across the UK and will continue to grow each year for the next 70 years?
SO WHAT DID WE LEARN FROM THE NUCLEAR EVENT?
At influx we:
- Increased our understanding of the nuclear sector
- Discovered real business opportunities
- Found out how to participate in the nuclear supply chain
- Were able to discuss our business and capabilities to major nuclear contractors
- Built up contacts in the nuclear sector
- Procurement models
- Regulations and standards
- New build supply chain
- Quality assurance and nuclear safety culture
- Common supply chain changes
WHY DID WE ATTEND NSC2?
Well if your company offers services such as civil engineering, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, engineering design and project management then there are definitely opportunities for you in the nuclear sector. That is the reason we attended. Our service offers all of that.
WHAT OTHER EVENTS WILL WE BE ATTENDING?
We are hoping to attend the following networking events:
- Winning New Business through Diversification Offshore Renewables on the 6th of September in Aberdeen
- Offshore Energy Networking Lunch with JDR Cables on the 1st November in Aberdeen
- Oil & Gas UK’s Share Fair 2016 on the 2nd of November In Aberdeen
At 4pm we were able to have a 1:1 meeting with Graham Construction in the Glendevon Room. The meeting only lasted for 10 minutes however just in that short space we were able to get the key contacts we needed for our business which we were very grateful for. Jack was a lovely man and very keen for our us to keep in regular contact with Graham Construction which we recognise for being great for our business and building up a great relationship.
We look forward to attending the upcoming events 🙂
