My Influx journey began in 2013. Whilst working within a large engineering company, I made the decision to adopt a little boy. This decision was life changing and led to me rethinking my whole career path and what I really wanted to do. After taking some time out … Influx was born!
Influx has gone through a lot of change since we began. Initially our core business was Oil and Gas. Due to the current downturn in this sector we diversified into other industries and are currently growing rapidly.
A key element of our success is building trust and cultivating relationships with our clients worldwide. Earning trust is essential to our business.
My team is focused and motivated and a pleasure to be around. We all have our own individual strengths which are key to the business dynamics.
My background is in Sales & Marketing, Finance and Project Management.
I love what I do. I enjoy connecting people. I help companies find the right employee and candidates find that perfect job. That’s a good feeling.

Courtney Hunter – Accounts Assistant
Being part of the Influx team has allowed me to take a very hands-on approach to my work. It is so important to everyone in the team that we build good quality relationships with everyone we work with and provide the best possible service for our clients and our candidates. This continuous drive from the rest of the team and myself as well as having access to a global network and the necessary expertise within the industry is how we add value with our service.
In this type of business I think the likeability factor is key. I believe my bubbly and outgoing personality helps me to create good working relationships with everyone I work with. I am willing to discover and accept new ideas and I have the ability to communicate well with people from all walks of life.

I genuinely think that the majority of people will decide that their dream job is hard to achieve or too competitive these days.
Not for me.
I have worked extremely hard to get where I am now and I believe anyone can do it if they put their mind to it.
Going to university has never been more popular. And most of the time students come out struggling to get a job but this was not the case for me.
I studied BA (Hons) Sport and Management at The University of Abertay Dundee and decided to take the business route in the 2nd year when I found this career pathway so interesting. More to the point, marketing! Yes it is stressful and difficult at times, but I get a great sense of satisfaction from the work I do.
During my last year at university, I had to complete a 20-hour placement, which related to my career pathway, which you can guess, is marketing. After my placement was completed I then received a job offer before I graduated to start a full-time position as a Marketing Executive.
It is difficult to attribute our success to any one thing that being said, I do believe that anyone going into business needs to have a clear goal and mission, and for me, that has been to provide the highest standard of marketing services with a dedication to excellence and creativity.
I also firmly believe that its people make a good business and the recruitment of such a strong team has been a key driver in our growth.
We invest in our team by providing internal and external training, attending industry conferences and have spent a lot of time working on our physical working environment to ensure it encourages collaboration and a positive place to be.

I am a creative, agile and organised operations manager responsible for the overseeing and development of the business. Throughout Influx we are passionate about the development and training of our staff and it is my role to ensure all members of staff thrive in the learning environment.
I have a consistent track record of successfully employing best business practices that maximise revenue by retaining and developing our existing clients. I have a professional attitude, with an ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive manner.
Working for Influx Recruitment has allowed me to work as part of a professional team which is constantly expanding and networking allowing me to grow and develop my career whilst meeting a lot of inspiring individuals in an exciting industry.

I have just recently joined Influx and loving it so far! I wasn’t really sure what career path I wanted to take but after speaking with Sharon, admin was something that I could do. The job of an administrative assistant may be considered easy. But when one takes into consideration the volume of assignments administrative assistants are responsible for, along with the various personnel they support, and then one can appreciate how crucial administrative assistants are to a successful company.

Scott Young – Accounts Executive – Twitter
Currently the newest member of the Influx Team, I come from a wide and varied background. My experience in various sectors is vast, initially starting my career in the hospitality industry before turning my hand to construction then warehousing and production whilst doing my degrees. I then ventured into finance. During these periods of employment, I built up a lot of skills and experiences that can be related to both candidates and clients.
I have a strong work ethic from starting out as an 18 year old waiter to being a hotel manager 24 months later. From leaving school with basic qualifications to now having a huge qualification catalogue behind me including 2 HNC’s, an HND and a BA Degree in Business Management from University proves the desire to do well and exceed expectations required in business today.
Since starting with Influx, it is clear to see how driven and focused the whole team are to be a success which is proven by winning the “Most Innovative Start-up Company” award at the Fife Business Awards recently. By winning this, we aren’t just being inspired by other people that we meet, we are now becoming the inspiration for others to follow.
